Asunción, Paraguay – In a shocking incident on June 12, 2025, at approximately 7:29 AM, a Bolt ride-sharing platform driver was attacked with a knife by a teenage passenger in Fernando de la Mora, leading to the vehicle crashing into a pole. Both the driver and the teenager sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital, and the vehicle was severely damaged.

How the Incident Unfolded

The victim, driver César Osmar Gómez (32), received a Bolt request in Villa Elisa, Paraguay. He was transporting a 16-year-old passenger to the southern area of Fernando de la Mora. According to reports from local radio station Monumental 1080 AM, as the vehicle reached the intersection of José Berges and Emiliano R. Fernández streets, the teenage passenger suddenly brandished a knife, attempting to overpower Mr. Gómez.

Fierce Resistance and Vehicle Collision

The teenage passenger demanded all of Mr. Gómez's belongings, but Gómez resisted, engaging in a fierce struggle. During the altercation, Gómez was stabbed in his right arm but managed to dramatically disarm the teenager. Gómez, in self-defense, inflicted several injuries on the teenage passenger.

While this struggle was ongoing inside the vehicle, the car lost control and collided violently with an electricity pole belonging to ANDE (Paraguay's National Electricity Administration). Immediately after the accident, police and paramedics arrived at the scene. Both Mr. Gómez and the teenage passenger were rushed to the Hospital de Trauma for treatment. Gómez's vehicle suffered severe front-end damage from the collision, and its repair status remains uncertain.

Previously, in Ñemby, near Fernando de la Mora, a Bolt driver was shot and his vehicle stolen, with three individuals arrested in connection with the incident.
