CHUNGNAM — In a major push to establish itself as a premier hub for new businesses, Chungnam Province has officially launched the Chungnam Startup City Promotion Team to respond proactively to the South Korean government's nationwide "Startup City Development Project."
The province held the official launch ceremony on the 7th at the provincial government conference hall. The event brought together key figures, including Administrative Vice Governor Hong Jong-wan, representatives from local city and county governments, universities, research institutes, private corporations, investment firms, and startup support organizations.
Officializing a Collaborative Framework
This inaugural event formalizes the collaborative framework required to build a vibrant startup ecosystem, building upon insights and cooperative tasks discussed during two working-level meetings held last September. The initiative solidifies a joint commitment among all participating entities to drive future project execution successfully.
Led by Administrative Vice Governor Hong as the head of the promotion team, the body is tasked with charting major policy directions for the startup city and coordinating cooperative measures between participating institutions.
Key Focus Areas and Future Strategies
Chungnam Province plans to focus heavily on establishing a robust support system that enables startups to achieve tangible outcomes and sustain growth locally, leveraging the unique expertise and operational experience of each member organization.
Furthermore, the province intends to refine its startup city promotion strategy and business plan by incorporating the specific guidelines of upcoming government announcements, supplementing detailed tasks and collaborative projects for each participating institution.
"Beyond discovering promising startups, creating an environment where they can grow and firmly plant roots in our region is just as vital," said Administrative Vice Governor Hong Jong-wan. "Beginning with today’s launch of the promotion team, we will foster close cooperation to translate the expertise and capabilities of each institution into practical achievements, doing our utmost to ensure Chungnam leaps forward as a representative startup hub of South Korea."
