GS25 has been named the preferred bidder for the operation of convenience stores at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul, a highly coveted location where daily sales can soar to as much as 100 million KRW (approx. $75,000 USD) during peak game days.

According to industry sources on the 18th, the Jamsil Stadium Management Office selected GS25 as the priority negotiator following a competitive bidding process. Upon finalizing the contract, GS25 will manage the stores for a two-year term, starting from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027.

Jamsil Stadium serves as the home ground for two of the most popular teams in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) League, the LG Twins and the Doosan Bears. With the KBO league reaching a historic milestone of 10 million spectators this year, the strategic importance of these outlets has never been higher. For the younger demographic, particularly Gen Z, the stadium has evolved into a cultural hub where "stadium food" is a significant part of the entertainment experience.

GS25 has operated at this venue for the past 25 years. This year’s bid was particularly intense as its primary rival, CU, reportedly made a massive push to secure the spot, recognizing both the immense revenue potential and the brand exposure associated with the stadium. Experts believe GS25’s long-standing expertise in logistics and crowd management during high-traffic events played a key role in their selection.

A GS25 official stated, "As we are currently at the preferred bidder stage, we will do our best to finalize the contract and continue providing top-tier service to baseball fans who visit Jamsil."
