Mind AI, Kongju National University, and KAIST Participate… Operating Real-World Field Problem-Solving Projects

Cheonan City is setting out to cultivate practical, specialized talent who will lead the Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX) of manufacturing, the region's core industry.

As part of the "Region-Led AI Transformation Project," Cheonan City will sequentially launch a customized education program starting on the 16th to foster practical talent capable of being deployed immediately into manufacturing sites.

The entire program is operated free of charge. Moving away from traditional, theory-focused rote learning, the program uses a project-based learning approach where participants tackle actual field challenges faced by local manufacturing companies—such as quality, safety, and processes—to derive practical solutions.

For this education program, domestic AI specialized enterprise Mind AI, Kongju National University, and KAIST are participating as operating institutions. Step-by-step customized courses ranging from "Basic to Advanced to Job Transition" will be conducted across the Cheonan area, including the Chungnam Manufacturing Technology Convergence Center, the Chungnam Corporate Training Center, and Kongju National University's Cheonan Campus.

Detailed courses consist of:

-AI Basic Education
-No-Code-Based Vision AI and AI Operations Management
-Digital Twin and XR-Based AI Simulation Practical Education

Trainees can choose and take courses based on their areas of interest.

Project outcomes completed by program participants will serve as employment-linked portfolios for youth and job seekers, and as field-testing data for the affiliated companies of working professionals. In December, the city also plans to host a "Manufacturing AX Hackathon," focusing on solving complex industrial field challenges for interested graduates.

Detailed information, including application procedures and specific schedules, can be found through the online registration portal.

Kim Joo-deok, Head of the Smart City Promotion Division, stated, "This education is a practical program encompassing everyone from ordinary individuals with no coding experience to manufacturing company employees in urgent need of AI transformation," adding, "We look forward to the active participation of local youth and practitioners."
