San Diego, CA – The 2025 Genesis Invitational, a prestigious PGA Tour tournament hosted by Genesis, is set to begin on February 13th at the iconic Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego. This year's tournament boasts a stellar lineup of 72 world-class golfers, including top-ranked Scottie Scheffler, fan favorites Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama, competing for a share of the $20 million purse. The winner will not only take home a hefty $4 million but also a brand-new Genesis GV70.
Beyond the thrilling competition, Genesis is demonstrating its commitment to the local community by launching the 'California Rise' campaign in partnership with the PGA Tour and TGR Live. This initiative aims to support the ongoing wildfire recovery efforts in the region. Genesis will generously donate 100 vehicles, including GV70 and GV80 models, worth $7.5 million to organizations assisting with disaster relief. Additionally, the 'Birdie for Good' program will raise further funds by pledging $300 for every birdie or eagle and $10,000 for every hole-in-one during the tournament. The combined donations from Genesis are expected to reach a remarkable $8 million, which will be distributed to charities such as the American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen to aid in wildfire relief and community rebuilding.
"Southern California holds a special place for Genesis, as it's home to our U.S. headquarters and design studios," said Hose Munoz, CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. "Through the 'California Rise' campaign, we aim to stand with the communities affected by the devastating wildfires and contribute to their recovery and resilience."
The 2025 Genesis Invitational promises to be an unforgettable event, showcasing both world-class golf and a deep commitment to social responsibility. As the world's best golfers take to the greens, Genesis is driving positive change and making a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by the California wildfires.
