Busan Port Authority (BPA) showcased its advanced digital logistics systems at the first-ever 'Indonesia Maritime Week 2025,' held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from May 27-28. The event, hosted by the Indonesian government for the first time, drew significant international attention, with approximately 600 attendees, including port authorities from the 10 ASEAN member states, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and representatives from global terminal operators.
BPA's Southeast Asia representative office participated at the invitation of Pelindo, Indonesia's state-owned port operator. During the event, BPA presented Busan Port's comprehensive digital transformation strategy, highlighting key initiatives such as ChainPORT, a blockchain-based platform; digital twin technology; autonomous port operations; and ambitious green port development plans.
BPA's participation underscores its proactive approach to enhancing global maritime cooperation and promoting the cutting-edge technological advancements implemented at Busan Port. The focus on digital solutions like ChainPORT aims to improve supply chain efficiency, transparency, and security, ultimately benefiting logistics stakeholders worldwide. Digital twin technology allows for virtual simulations of port operations, enabling optimized planning and resource allocation. Furthermore, Busan Port's commitment to autonomous solutions and green port initiatives reflects a broader vision for sustainable and intelligent port management, setting a benchmark for future maritime infrastructure.
The 'Indonesia Maritime Week 2025' served as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among maritime industry leaders in the ASEAN region and beyond. BPA's engagement facilitated discussions on the future of port operations, emphasizing the critical role of digitalization in achieving greater efficiency, resilience, and environmental sustainability in the global supply chain. This event provided an invaluable opportunity for Busan Port to solidify its position as a leader in smart port development and forge stronger partnerships within the dynamic Southeast Asian maritime sector.
