U.S. President Donald Trump expressed "great disappointment" with Russian President Vladimir Putin's passive stance on a peace deal for the Russia-Ukraine war on September 2nd. He also stated that he is not concerned about the recent alignment of North Korea, China, and Russia following the 80th anniversary of China's Victory Day.

According to a report by Reuters, President Trump addressed reporters at the White House, sharing his disappointment with Putin. He stated, "We will do something to help the people [of Ukraine] live." However, he did not provide specifics.

When asked if he viewed the alignment of the three countries—North Korea, China, and Russia—as a counter-force to the U.S., Trump replied, "Not at all." On September 3rd, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are expected to gather in Beijing for a military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory Day—the first time these leaders will meet since the Cold War.

Regarding this, Trump said, "China needs us. I have a very good relationship with President Xi Jinping, but China needs us much more than we need them."

In a prior interview with the <Scott Jennings Radio Show>, Trump also stated he was "not worried" about a potential "anti-American axis" formed by closer ties between China and Russia. He said, "They will not use military force against the United States."

After a meeting with Putin in Alaska on August 15th, Trump had been pushing for a bilateral summit between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, Putin has not agreed to the meeting. Instead, he has escalated attacks on Ukraine and moved closer to China.

When asked about the potential consequences if a summit between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders doesn't happen, Trump responded, "We'll see what happens. I'll be watching what they're doing and what takes place. I'm watching very carefully."

Trump also announced that the U.S. military had sunk a Venezuelan drug-trafficking vessel, claiming, "There were a lot of drugs on that ship."

In a related statement, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on X, "The U.S. military launched a fatal attack on a drug-trafficking vessel operated by a designated drug-terrorist organization that departed from Venezuela."
