Samcheok City has installed new water play facilities exclusively for children at Samcheok Beach, launching full-scale operations on July 9th, just in time for the summer vacation season.
The newly created water play area is located next to the sandcastle at Samcheok Beach and features various play equipment for toddlers and children, including a water slide, an inflatable pool, and an arch-shaped fountain tunnel. It's open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM. Along with nearby facilities like a deck resting area, Samcheok Beach has been transformed into a space where families can relax and play together.
Notably, the city has deployed water safety personnel and safety managers at all times to ensure all visitors can use the facilities safely and conveniently. Safety signs, guide ropes, and other safety installations are also in place on-site.
In addition, Samcheok Beach offers beach wheelchairs for people with disabilities and those with limited mobility, and palm mat paths have been installed for general wheelchair users. This enhances beach accessibility, ensuring everyone can enjoy Samcheok's beautiful ocean.
A city official stated, "Samcheok Beach is developing into a comprehensive marine leisure space where people of all ages can enjoy themselves safely." They added, "We hope many citizens and tourists visit Samcheok this summer to create cool and special memories."
Meanwhile, Deoksan, Obun, Sangmaengbang, Gungchon, Munam, and Imwon beaches are currently closed, and safety personnel are not stationed there, so visitors are advised to exercise caution.
