Santa Cruz, Bolivia – Exposoya 2025, the most important technology event in the soybean sector, kicks off its 31st edition with a focus on reaffirming that biotechnology and sustainable practices are strategic allies for the future of soybean production in the country. From Thursday, February 20 to Saturday, February 22, in the municipality of Cuatro Cañadas in the department of Santa Cruz, more than 6,000 producers will gather to learn about advances in technological innovation that will improve their productivity and competitiveness.

This year, the event coincides with a crucial stage for the country's opening towards biotechnology. With a projection of 2.5 million tons of soybean production for this 2024-2025 summer agricultural campaign, the sector is convinced that it is capable of significantly increasing that amount in the next eight years, through greater openness of the country to biotechnology with genetically improved seeds and the implementation of the National Fertilization Plan.

"At Exposoya 2025 we will reinforce the message that sustainability is key to productivity. Biotechnology and good agricultural practices can coexist to guarantee responsible and sustainable growth of the sector," says Jaime Hernández, general manager of the Association of Oilseed and Wheat Producers (Anapo), creator and organizer of the event.

During the event, producers will be able to tour demonstration plots and participate in technical explanations on sustainable soil management, direct planting, crop rotation, service and cover crops, new corn and sorghum hybrids, technological packages from commercial houses, fertilization and plant nutrition, as technological strategies to maximize yields and increase production.

This version will also be the opportunity to present two new varieties: the GS 50R 48, from Semillera LealSem; and the Patujú, from Fito breeding.

"Exposoya is not only a space for technology transfer, but also a platform to position the needs of the sector, which include access to biotechnology and a favorable climate for investments in agricultural production, to contribute to food security and also to the economic development of the country," explains Hernández.

Exposoya is the benchmark technology event of the soybean production sector in Bolivia. Organized every year at the Anapo Experimental Center in the municipality of Cuatro Cañadas, it brings together producers, researchers and companies in the sector who present innovations and generate knowledge for the sustainable development of agriculture.
