Lee Kang-in of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), who has been sidelined due to a thigh injury, has returned to team training. However, he will not be available for the upcoming UEFA Champions League (UCL) match against Newcastle United.
On the 28th (KST), PSG announced the 20-man squad for the final UCL league phase match against Newcastle, scheduled for the 29th at Parc des Princes. Lee's name was absent from the list.
Lee sustained a left thigh muscle injury during the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo on December 18th. Since then, he has missed eight consecutive matches. While he has resumed team training, the club has opted for caution, making his full return to the pitch imminent but not immediate.
Currently, PSG sits in 6th place in the UCL league phase with 13 points. With a tight race between the 6th and 13th positions, a victory against Newcastle is crucial for PSG to secure a direct spot in the Round of 16.
