The 14th edition held across Seosan on the 22nd, bringing together 2,000 participants -
The "14th Chungcheongnam-do Students' Para-Sports Competition" took place on the 22nd across various venues in Seosan and at the Dangjin Student Swimming Pool, aiming to discover and nurture promising young athletes with disabilities and provide them with diverse opportunities to participate in physical activities.

Co-hosted by the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education and Samsung SDI's Cheonan Workplace, and organized by the Chungnam Sports Council for the Disabled and the Seosan Sports Council for the Disabled, the event drew approximately 2,000 participants, including student athletes, officials, and related personnel from across the province.

The competition featured six sports events: badminton, swimming, weightlifting, track and field, table tennis, and e-sports. Participating athletes showcased their skills honed through hard work and engaged in friendly competition.

In particular, this competition served as a selection tournament for the 21st National Students' Para-Sports Competition in 2027, creating an opportunity to discover talented student athletes with disabilities within the province and enhance their athletic performance. It also served as a meaningful platform for students to build confidence and a sense of achievement through physical activities, while unfolding their dreams and talents.

In a written congratulatory message, Chungnam Governor and President of the Chungnam Sports Council for the Disabled Park Soo-hyun stated, "Sports have the special power to help us gain confidence through the process of challenging ourselves, understand and care for one another, and grow a step further. The Chungcheongnam-do Students' Para-Sports Competition goes beyond a mere contest of rankings and records; it is a precious stage where students discover their talents and potential and cultivate bigger dreams." He added, "The province will do its utmost to create an environment where everyone can enjoy physical activities without discrimination."

He further noted, "We will broaden the foundation of grassroots sports so that para-sports are never marginalized and everyone can enjoy the joy of exercise, thereby creating a more prosperous and dynamic Chungnam."
