The Daejeon Metropolitan Choir Senior Concert "About Romance" will be staged at the Ensemble Hall of the Daejeon Arts Center at 7:30 PM on Tuesday the 13th.
The "Senior Concert" was prepared to expand cultural and artistic enjoyment opportunities for the senior generation opening up the second act of their lives in the face of an aging society. Under the theme of "Romance," this concert has been prepared with pieces that evoke the lyrical sentiment unique to autumn and vague memories of youth.
The first stage opens with "Five Arirangs," arranged by Jin Han-seo. Performing Shin Arirang, Milyang Arirang, Jindo Arirang, Jeongseon Arirang, and Gu Arirang, it is a choral medley that reinterprets traditional folk songs imbued with the unique Han and deep lingering resonance of our people's lives in a modern way.
The second stage is filled with pieces that allow you to feel the seasonal sense of autumn. It stimulates the audience's emotions through performances of Cho Dong-jin's "Through the Tree Leaves" featuring a violin collaboration by Chang Eun-hye, Park Tae-joon's "Autumn Night" arranged by Kim Ba-ha, Kim Min-ki's composer credit "Autumn Letter," and Kim Kwang-seok's "Where the Wind Blows."
The third stage is a stage to fully enjoy the main theme, "Romance," presenting a high-completion stage together with session performances by bass guitarist Kim Jong-hyun, drummer Kim Ho-yong, and accordionist Kim Ba-ha. Masterpieces that will bring warm empathy to the senior generation, such as Choi Baek-ho's "About Romance," Kim Chang-hwan's "Sleepless Night Rain is Falling," and Kim Kwang-seok's "Becoming Dust," will harmonize with the chorus to present a romantic autumn night to the audience.
This performance will be conducted with the delicate and deep-seated conducting of Ahn Jung-hyun, associate conductor of the Daejeon Metropolitan Choir, and hosted by KBS announcer Choi Seung-don, who is loved for his witty and smooth hosting. As a stage to empathize with and talk about "Romance" through music, looking back warmly on the lives we have passed through, it is expected to bring warm comfort and resonance to the senior generation.
Admission for the performance is 10,000 KRW for all seats, and tickets can be reserved on the websites of the Daejeon Metropolitan Choir, Daejeon Arts Center, and Nolle Ticket. For detailed information, please contact the Daejeon Metropolitan Choir (☎ 042-270-8364).
