Amidst the outpouring of support from overseas Korean communities for the victims of the recent powerful earthquake in the Myanmar-Thailand border region, the Korean Association in Cambodia (President Chung Myung-kyu) announced on the 17th that it had collected donations from its members and delivered them to the Federation of Korean Associations in Asia (President Yoon Hee).

These donations will be channeled through the Federation of Korean Associations in Asia to support emergency relief activities and recovery efforts for the residents affected by the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand.

The Korean Association in Cambodia stated, "We have gathered our small but heartfelt contributions for our neighboring countries that are suffering greatly from the earthquake. The local Korean residents have pooled their sincerity and donated the funds to the Federation of Korean Associations in Asia."

The association further emphasized, "The spirit of 'sharing the pain together' is more significant than the amount of the donation. We will continue to foster solidarity within the Korean community in the face of humanitarian disasters."

President Chung Myung-kyu of the Korean Association in Cambodia expressed his deep gratitude to the Korean residents who voluntarily participated in the fundraising efforts. He stated, "I once again felt that the overseas Korean community is a true community that looks after each other in times of crisis."

He added, "As Cambodia is also a country with insufficient disaster management capabilities and is always at risk of natural disasters, the suffering of our neighboring countries does not feel like something distant. We hope that this cooperation and solidarity, which extends a warm hand across borders, will further expand."

The Korean Association in Cambodia (President Chung Myung-kyu) also expressed its gratitude to the Korean community members who contributed to the Myanmar-Thailand disaster relief fund.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Korean Associations in Asia has launched an emergency fundraising campaign for earthquake relief and is encouraging the participation of Korean associations across the region. The Kayah State in Myanmar and the Chiang Rai region in northern Thailand, which suffered significant damage from the earthquake, are still in urgent need of recovery efforts due to casualties and collapsed homes.
