The '5th Chungnam Red Cross Volunteers Convention' held on the 30th… Spreading the spirit of humanitarianism

Chungnam Governor Park Soo-hyun attended the '5th Chungnam Red Cross Volunteers Convention' held at the Dangjin Indoor Gymnasium on the 30th, expressing his gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and hard work of Red Cross volunteers who have carried out volunteer activities at disaster sites and throughout local communities.

Hosted by the Chungnam Chapter of the Korean Red Cross, the event was organized to boost the morale of volunteers and promote harmony among those who have engaged in diverse activities such as disaster relief, support for vulnerable groups, and community service.

Attended by Governor Park, Moon Eun-soo, President of the Korean Red Cross Chungnam Chapter, and about 2,000 Red Cross volunteers from across the province, the event featured the reading of the Red Cross fundamental principles, a volunteer oath, awards for meritorious volunteers, performances, and networking time.

During the event, citations were awarded to 15 volunteers who put the spirit of humanitarianism into practice, with Governor Park personally presenting provincial governor citations to 6 of them.

In his remarks, Governor Park stated, "I would like to express my profound respect and gratitude to all the volunteers who have quietly cared for our neighbors in unseen places," adding, "Thanks to the 7,000 volunteers who reached out first when residents were going through the toughest times, Chungnam was able to stand back up."

Governor Park further emphasized, "We will do our utmost to build a warm Chungnam that approaches struggling residents first alongside the Red Cross," and added, "Chungnam will always walk alongside the path of the yellow vests."

Meanwhile, the Korean Red Cross Chungnam Chapter continues to strive toward restoring the daily lives of residents and strengthening the local community safety net through various humanitarian activities, including disaster relief, support for vulnerable groups, and community service.
