Kwon Oh-sung, CEO of Hyundai WIA, solidified his resolve to overcome the crisis by presenting 'Technological Innovation' and 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Utilization' as the company's core drivers for future growth during his first communication session with employees after taking office.
Hyundai WIA announced on the 24th that it held the '2025 CEO Town Hall Meeting' on the 23rd at the Uiwang Research Institute in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, with approximately 1,000 employees attending both online and offline. At the meeting, CEO Kwon emphasized, "The most critical factor in the increasingly fierce competition within the mobility parts and robot sectors is overwhelming technological capability." As a former researcher, CEO Kwon promised a commitment to investment in future core technologies, stating, "Hyundai WIA must be able to demonstrate differentiated value from other parts suppliers through technological innovation."
CEO Kwon particularly stressed the importance of improving work efficiency through the utilization of AI. He stated that "Digital Transformation (DX) is now essential," and as the automotive development environment shifts toward a software-centric approach, AI must be actively utilized in all sectors—including development, manufacturing, and support—to conduct work more efficiently and systematically.
Regarding the direction for future growth, he emphasized a culture of a 'Learning Organization.' CEO Kwon expressed his aspiration to create a 'Learning Hyundai WIA' through various systems, including not only job training and education but also open innovation and in-house ventures, stressing the need for a culture where all employees learn autonomously. He also promised to ensure that all members can unleash their creativity based on a flexible organizational culture. This Town Hall Meeting served as a forum for sharing CEO Kwon's management philosophy and exchanging future vision and growth directions with employees. CEO Kwon elaborated on the impact of changes in global trade policy and the mobility industry on the company, urging all employees to grow into a global top-tier manufacturer of mobility parts and solutions based on their technological prowess.
