SEOUL, Nov. 20 — Guro-gu, Seoul, announced on Wednesday that the 'Guro Picnic Garden,' located along the banks of the Anyangcheon Stream, has attracted a cumulative total of 5,500 visitors over the six months from its opening on May 1st through the end of October.

The Guro Picnic Garden is a nature-friendly leisure space designed to allow citizens to relax within a natural setting. The facility is tailored for family units, featuring five designated picnic decks, ten 'car-cnic' (car picnic) spaces where visitors can enjoy leisure time from their vehicles, a sprawling grass plaza, and a children's play area.

Visitors are treated to a scenic landscape that changes with the seasons, showcasing tulips in spring, cornflowers in summer, and cosmos in autumn. Since its inauguration this year, the garden has seen high demand, with reservations for picnic decks and car-cnic spots closing early every weekend. The grass plaza and children's play area have remained bustling with families, with the play area recording the highest utilization rate among all facilities.

In response to the garden's popularity, Guro-gu plans to implement several improvements to enhance user convenience. Starting in 2026, the district aims to move the opening date forward to April and extend the overall operation period. Furthermore, the district will upgrade amenities within the picnic and car-cnic zones and improve access routes and signage to create a better environment for visitors.

Reservations for the Guro Picnic Garden can be made through the Seoul Public Service Reservation System starting at 10 a.m. on the 25th of each month for the following month. All facilities are available free of charge.

"Next year, we will ensure a more pleasant and safe environment to develop it into the premier resting space in southwestern Seoul."
