Provincial government, Cheonan City, council, dentistry, medical, research, industrial, and civil society sectors participate—Full-scale joint cooperation system launched

Governor Park Soo-hyun: "Evaluation should be based on national necessity and practical capabilities, not the voices of a specific region"

Chungcheongnam-do has established a joint response system at the pan-Chungnam level with major organizations and groups within the province to further strengthen its efforts to host the National Institute of Dentistry in Cheonan.

On the 6th, the province held the launching ceremony of the Pan-Chungnam Promotion Body for Cheonan's bid to host the National Institute of Dentistry and signed a joint cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among participating organizations at the Provincial Government Building, chaired by Governor Park Soo-hyun. The event was attended by the provincial government, Cheonan City, local councils, regional lawmakers, the Chungnam Development Council, and major organizations and groups from the fields of dentistry and medicine, universities and research, industry and research and development (R&D), and civil society.

This pan-Chungnam promotion body was launched with the goal of rallying the local community's resolve to host the National Institute of Dentistry in Cheonan and establishing a practical cooperation system involving administration, the legislature, the dental community, medical sectors, universities, research institutes, industry, and civil society.

At the event, participating organizations shared the necessity of establishing the National Institute of Dentistry and the justification for hosting it in Cheonan, agreeing to cooperate in joint bidding activities leveraging the expertise and capabilities of each institution.

First, by linking the dental education and clinical foundation of Dankook University's College of Dentistry and Dental Hospital, the research capabilities of universities and research institutes, and the industrialization capabilities of dental-related companies and institutions, they actively presented the possibility of building a dental research and industrial ecosystem that connects research to clinical application, validation, and commercialization.

Along with this, they plan to materialize the foundations and cooperation plans held by each participating organization, and spread the necessity of establishing the National Institute of Dentistry and the justification for Cheonan's bid through policy consultations and joint recommendations with the National Assembly and related institutions.

They will also strengthen ultra-regional cooperation within the Chungcheong region. The plan is to establish a cooperation foundation that connects dental research, clinical application, and industrialization by linking the high-tech medical and bio-industry foundations of Osong and Ochang in Chungcheongbuk-do, the science and technology research capabilities of Daejeon, and the administrative and policy functions of Sejong.

Through this, the province plans to emphasize that the National Institute of Dentistry can grow into a national research hub that leads the development of Korea's dentistry and the competitiveness of related industries, beyond the interests of a specific region.
