To respond to the rapidly changing international trade environment and enhance the competitiveness of local exporting companies, Chungnam Province explored trade strategies with trade experts.
On the 6th, the Province, jointly with the Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), held the ‘Paradigm Shift in Trade and the Future of Chungnam Exports’ Forum at Monavalley in Asan.
Held under the theme of “Changes in U.S. and European Union (EU) Trade Environments and Response Strategies for Chungnam Exporting Companies,” this forum was organized to examine global trade issues and trends, forecast regulations, and discuss countermeasures.
With around 100 attendees—including Deputy Governor for Political Affairs Koo Bon-young, academia, trade officials, legal experts, and corporate representatives—the forum proceeded with a keynote speech followed by thematic presentations.
During the forum, Professor Jung In-kyo of Inha University delivered a keynote speech on the theme of “The Great Transformation of the Global Trade Order,” explaining its impact and tasks for South Korea’s exports. Subsequently, attendees listened to lectures by various experts on themes such as U.S. trade policies, EU trade regulations, and U.S. trade outlooks, and exchanged diverse opinions to explore response directions and new opportunities in the changing international trade environment.
Furthermore, following the lectures, one-on-one customized consultation sessions between field experts and companies took place, drawing keen interest from attendees.
In response to changes in the international trade environment, the Province plans to strengthen information provision and customized support so that local companies can establish their export directions and proactively cope with external variables.
At the event, Deputy Governor Koo stated, “We will actively incorporate the opinions raised at this forum to establish meticulous and effective policies,” adding, “Beyond simple financial and administrative support, the Province will become a reliable partner that flexibly and proactively responds to trade changes.”
