Siheung City (Mayor Lim Byeong-taek) announced that the 32nd Mulwang Art Festival will be held from May 9th to 11th under the theme 'Siheung Art! See and Enjoy' at Bidulgi Park, Mokgamsanhyeon Park, and Jeongwang Central Park.
The Mulwang Art Festival is Siheung City's representative cultural and artistic festival, selected as a Gyeonggi Province Regional Representative Art Festival for three consecutive years. It is a comprehensive art festival created together by local artists and citizens, serving as a passage connecting the present and future of local art and a new cultural and artistic platform where art and daily life meet.
This year's festival will take place in three areas: Bidulgi Park in the Sincheon and Eunhaeng districts, Sanhyeon Park in the Neunggok and Mokgam areas, and Central Park in the Jeongwang and Baegot districts. It is planned as a program where citizens throughout Siheung can fully see and enjoy the excitement of art, with notable citizen participation.
In particular, art festivals with the participation of citizen clubs will be held simultaneously in all three regions, providing citizens with opportunities to directly see and experience various genres of art and connect art with their daily lives.
Looking at the main programs by region, Bidulgi Park will feature 'Dancing Carmen' with an orchestra, the Gyeonggi Chorus Festival, and a film music concert. The outdoor stage at Mokgamsanhyeon Park will host youth art performances and the Gugak Naknak performance (traditional Korean music).
The outdoor stage at Jeongwang Central Park will welcome citizens with the 'Dancing Firefly' dance performance and the 'I am a Singer' popular music contest. Additionally, various events such as a Baekiljang (poetry contest), a calligraphy and painting contest, and citizen experience booths (photography and art experiences) will be available.
Furthermore, the official mascots 'Murang' and 'Yerang' will be newly unveiled at this year's festival, acting as friendly art ambassadors communicating with citizens.
Lee Jae-hwan, Chairman of the Siheung Arts and Culture Association, said, "The 32nd Mulwang Art Festival is a comprehensive art venue that brings together the creative capabilities of local artists and the diversity of art. I hope it will be a meaningful time for all citizens to enjoy and connect with art."
