Heartbreaking Text Messages from International Students

There are more than 80 international students who have expressed that they want to work part-time at "Cherry Garden." In their home countries, their parents' monthly salary is less than 300,000 won in Korean currency. Even by working a part-time job in Korea, they can earn more than 10 times their parents' monthly salary. South Korea is a land of opportunity for them. Coming to Korea to study is difficult enough, but even after arriving, high tuition, living expenses, and prices make survival impossible without a part-time job. Juggling their studies and part-time work, they go through immense hardships.
Some of these international students are married, leaving behind wives and children in their home countries. Since covering living expenses in Korea is already a burden, they also need a steady income to support their families back home. Desperate text messages arrive late at night or early in the morning, pleading for any kind of work without being picky. The messages read, "I want to work at Cherry Garden, but if there are no openings, please help introduce a job to my acquaintances, too." It makes me want to work even harder to help create more jobs for them.
