Incheon, South Korea – The city of Incheon is set to become the epicenter of women's amateur futsal as the '2025 Woman's Futsal in Incheon' tournament kicks off on November 1st. This major festival aims to provide a platform for female amateur players across the nation to build confidence and embody a spirit of challenge and sportsmanship.

Expanding the Footprint of Women's Sports

The tournament, which will take place at the Futsal Pitches and Soccer Field within Incheon Grand Park, is part of Incheon Metropolitan City's efforts to expand the base and ensure the sustainability of women's amateur futsal culture. This initiative comes amid a notable increase in women's participation in sports nationwide, a trend partly fueled by the growing popularity of amateur football, including through mass media.

The event, co-hosted by The Dong-A Ilbo and Channel A and sponsored by Incheon City, is significantly expanding its scale this year, with 50 teams registered to participate—a substantial increase from the 27 teams in the previous year's event. The competition will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Tournament Structure and Community Engagement

The competition will feature teams of five players, commencing with a group stage across 10 groups. Following the initial rounds, the top 16 and middle 16 teams will advance to separate knockout tournaments to determine the final champions.

Beyond the matches, the festival emphasizes social contribution with a program dedicated to supporting local youth girls' soccer teams through the donation of training equipment.

Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We anticipate that this event will further revitalize women's participation in sports. We will continue to expand women-friendly sports culture where women can enjoy themselves and maintain a healthy lifestyle."

The '2025 Woman's Futsal in Incheon' stands as a major event highlighting the vibrant and growing culture of women's amateur sports in South Korea.
