Korat, Thailand – The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), in a significant display of regional cooperation, has joined forces with the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) and the United States Air Force (USAF) for the 31st iteration of Exercise Cope Tiger, a large-scale joint air training exercise aimed at bolstering combat readiness and operational proficiency.

The RSAF's deployment for Cope Tiger 2025 includes a substantial contingent of 26 advanced aircraft, 10 sophisticated ground-based air defense systems, and over 700 highly trained personnel. This year's exercise, spanning from March 17th to 28th at Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base and the Chandy Range in Thailand, is structured into a comprehensive three-phase program.

The exercise began with a Command Post Exercise held in Singapore in late 2024. The current phase, involving live flying training, incorporates complex air combat scenarios designed to test and refine the participating air forces' tactical and technical skills. A unique aspect of Cope Tiger is its commitment to community engagement, with a two-day social contribution program that fosters interaction between military personnel and local communities.

"Cope Tiger provides an invaluable opportunity to hone our combat readiness and operational capabilities across a spectrum of air defense, strike, and unmanned aerial vehicle operations," stated Colonel Liu Chuan Benjamin, RSAF's exercise director. "This enduring exercise underscores the robust defense ties and collaborative spirit that exists between our three nations."

The exercise features a diverse array of aircraft, including state-of-the-art fighter jets, strategic transport aircraft, airborne early warning systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles, facilitating a rich exchange of tactics, techniques, and procedures.

The culmination of Cope Tiger 2025 will be marked by a closing ceremony on March 28th, jointly presided over by Major General Kelvin Fan (RSAF), Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul (RTAF), and Lieutenant General Stephen F. Jost (USAF).

Since its inception in 1994, Cope Tiger has served as a cornerstone for enhancing interoperability and strengthening the bonds of friendship among the participating air forces. This annual exercise plays a vital role in ensuring regional stability and security.
