The KDI School of Public Policy and Management (KDI School) announced it achieved the 3rd highest ranking among 88 universities nationwide in the 2024 evaluation of institutions hosting Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) students. Organized by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), KDI School secured an impressive total score of 94.22 points, demonstrating top-tier performance across mandatory criteria, general management, and student satisfaction.
Top-Tier Performance and Consistent Excellence
The evaluation, which assesses the overall support and management of government-invited international students, categorizes institutions into Excellent, Satisfactory, and Unsatisfactory, with only the top 10% earning the "Excellent University" designation.
The annual NIIED inspection aims to enhance degree completion rates and strengthen the support and management systems for GKS students. Universities are assessed and classified based on an aggregate score from five mandatory criteria, general administration, and bonus/penalty points.
KDI School distinguished itself by achieving a perfect score in all five mandatory indicators:
Stipend Payment: Timely and full distribution of living allowances.
Excess Tuition Support: Providing additional support beyond standard tuition coverage.
Dropout Rate Management: Effective measures to minimize student attrition.
Immigration Support: Comprehensive assistance with entry and exit procedures.
Degree Program Enrollment Rate: High transition rate of language trainees to degree programs.
The institution also received consistently high marks in both the general administration and student satisfaction surveys, culminating in the total score of 94.22 points.
Commitment to International Education Capacity
This outstanding result validates the systematic and stable management system KDI School has established for its international scholarship recipients. The ranking further reinforces the school's reputation for educational excellence, following its recent designation for five consecutive years as an 'Accredited University for International Education Capacity' by the Ministry of Education.
KDI School, led by President Kim Jun-Kyung, remains a premier institution dedicated to cultivating global leaders in public policy and development, with its success in the GKS evaluation highlighting its commitment to providing a supportive and high-quality educational environment for its international cohort.
