Violinist Shin Sung-hee will hold her final solo recital of the "Beethoven Violin Sonata Complete Series" on February 15th at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
This performance will feature Violin Sonata No. 4 in A minor (Op. 23), No. 8 in G major (Op. 30, No. 3), and No. 10 in G major (Op. 96). She will be accompanied by Russian pianist Ilya Rashkovskiy.
Beethoven's Violin Sonatas reflect the musical changes of the era and the composer's philosophy. In particular, Sonata No. 10, which will conclude the series, reflects Beethoven's late style and is characterized by a lyrical and tranquil atmosphere.
Shin Sung-hee graduated from Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, Seoul National University College of Music and its graduate school, and holds a master's degree from the Eastman School of Music in the United States and a doctorate from the University of Illinois. She has won awards in the Dong-A Music Competition, the Ewha-Kyunghyang Competition, and the Chosun Ilbo Competition, and has performed with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Seoul Baroque Ensemble.
