Seoul, South Korea – KT Corporation, one of South Korea’s leading telecommunications companies, has announced a significant organizational restructuring aimed at accelerating its transformation into an AI, IT, and Cloud Technology (AICT) company. The reorganization, effective from 2025, is designed to streamline operations, drive innovation, and solidify KT's position as a leading player in the AICT market.
A key focus of the reorganization is the consolidation of KT's B2B businesses. The Enterprise Division, which has been overseeing B2B operations, will now incorporate the Strategy and New Business Division, which previously handled AI-related businesses. This integration will create a more unified entity capable of delivering comprehensive AI, cloud, and platform solutions to enterprise customers.
To strengthen its media business, KT is establishing a new Media Division. This division will oversee KT’s core media assets, including IPTV, KT Skylife, KT Studio Genie, and Genie Music, and will serve as a central hub for the company's media-related initiatives.
Furthermore, KT is expanding its Strategy and Business Consulting Division to enhance its B2B capabilities. This division will focus on providing AICT consulting services, including developing and executing new business opportunities, managing next-generation IT projects, and strengthening partnerships with global technology companies such as Microsoft.
To ensure the stability and reliability of its network infrastructure, KT is establishing two new companies: KT Netcore and KT P&M. These companies will be responsible for network infrastructure construction, maintenance, and operations.
KT CEO Kim Young-sub emphasized the importance of this organizational overhaul, stating, "To become a company with the best AICT capabilities, it is crucial to efficiently operate and innovate our organization and workforce. Going forward, KT will lead the B2B IT market through global cooperation, and we will strive to become a company recognized by customers and the public for the safe and stable operation and advancement of our network."
Key points of the reorganization include:
Consolidation of B2B businesses: The integration of the Enterprise and Strategy & New Business Divisions will create a more unified and efficient B2B operation.
