Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – A French parliamentarian representing citizens abroad recently visited Jeddah to explore opportunities and strengthen collaboration between France and Saudi Arabia.

Amal-Amelia Lecrafi, President of the France-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Group and representative of French citizens across 49 countries, expressed keen interest in contributing to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, particularly in renewable energy, smart cities, and cultural industries.

Leveraging her experience as a cybersecurity business leader, Lecrafi aims to bridge the gap between the two nations’ ecosystems. She emphasized the potential for stronger partnerships in economic, technological, cultural, and educational sectors.

“Vision 2030 provides an exceptional platform for developing projects in green energy, sustainable mobility, and technological innovation,” she stated. “By combining our expertise, we can create sustainable, innovative solutions and offer Saudi youth high-quality training opportunities.”

Cultural diplomacy also plays a crucial role in strengthening bilateral ties. Lecrafi highlighted initiatives aimed at enhancing cultural and educational exchanges, including training programs in NEOM and joint artistic projects.

“Culture and education are key to bringing our societies closer and strengthening Francophonie in the region,” she said.

Addressing the challenges faced by French expatriates, Lecrafi outlined efforts to improve consular support and engagement. This includes strengthening consular services, facilitating access to French education, and addressing banking issues.

“We are actively working to resolve the difficulty many expatriates face in maintaining or opening bank accounts in France,” she said. “We are also ensuring their integration into the local economic dynamism.”

Lecrafi emphasized Saudi Arabia’s strategic importance in the Middle East and France’s commitment to regional stability. She highlighted the upcoming June 2025 conference for the creation of a Palestinian state, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, as a strong signal of their shared determination to promote lasting peace and the recognition of two states.

She commended Saudi Arabia’s progress under Vision 2030, particularly the empowerment of women. “Vision 2030 embodies a unique ambition to open up to the world while affirming a strong identity, resonating directly with the values of tolerance and progress,” she said.

Lecrafi expressed admiration for Saudi Arabia’s commitment to education, aligning with Islamic values. She pledged to continue supporting initiatives that highlight the Kingdom’s vision and commitment on the global stage.
