3rd-quarter inspection of 120 execution tasks across 6 major fields, with participation from 15 bureaus and 37 departments

Gyeongsangbuk-do announced that the average progress rate for its "120 Execution Tasks in the War on Low Birth Rates" reached 77.3% in the third quarter. Out of the 120 tasks across 6 major fields backed by a budget of 397.9 billion KRW this year, 95 tasks (79.2%) have surpassed the target progress rate of 70%, expanding support for childbirth, childcare, housing, and work-life balance.

A total of 15 provincial bureaus and 37 departments are participating in implementing the 120 execution tasks across 6 major fields. The average progress rate has risen steadily each quarter, recording 34.2% in the first quarter, 55.8% in the second quarter, and 77.3% in the third quarter.

In the Happy Childbirth field, 28 out of 30 tasks achieved their target progress rates. Pregnancy and childbirth support systems are being strengthened as projects such as procedural cost support for male infertile couples, medical expense support for mothers aged 35 and older, and operational support for the Andong Medical Center Infertility Center are being carried out as planned.

In the Full-Time Care field, projects such as the "Our Neighborhood Elementary School Vacation Care Center," care integration information provision services, and the "Growing Together Small Library Care Project" recorded a 100% progress rate. Care gaps are being reduced and parenting burdens are being lowered through the "K-Bodum 6000 Project" and the operation of emergency care centers for sick children.

In the Secure Housing field, housing cost burdens are being alleviated through monthly rent support for young adults and newlyweds, key money loan interest support for newlyweds, and large-home purchase interest support for multi-child families. In the Work-Life Balance field, initiatives include compensation for reduced working hours for parents with young children, subsidies for small and medium-sized enterprises introducing 10 a.m. arrival systems for mothers with elementary school children, and support for farming assistants in farming households.

Projects supporting young adults' dating and marriage have also been expanded. The province is implementing customized low-birth-rate response policies tailored to each stage of the lifecycle, such as the "Chilwol-Chilseok Gyeonwoo-Jingnyeo Meeting Day," "Small yet Special Weddings," and marriage congratulatory gift and wedding item cost support.

Tasks with performance falling short of targets will undergo cause analysis, and tailored improvement plans will be established for concentrated management. Medium- and long-term projects—such as the establishment of an integrated care cluster, the supply of parenting-friendly public rental housing, and the creation of a regional vitality town—will accelerate progress by strengthening cooperation with related organizations.

The province analyzes budget execution rates, target achievement levels, and policy effectiveness through the Low Birth Rate Policy Evaluation Center. Based on resident perception surveys and expert advisory results, the province plans to discover highly effective projects and incorporate them into future policies.

Lee Sang-soo, Director General of the Local Government Strategy Bureau at Gyeongsangbuk-do, stated, "As the 120 execution tasks in the war on low birth rates proceed smoothly, we are laying the policy foundation for residents to feel the impact in their daily lives. Moving forward, we will closely monitor the implementation status of each project and enhance policy effectiveness to build a comprehensive support system spanning from dating to marriage, childbirth, childcare, and housing."
