San Salvador, El Salvador – The Salvadoran government, in a collaborative effort with the private sector, has unveiled "Lácteos de El Salvador," a new national brand aimed at elevating the country's dairy industry. This initiative seeks to showcase high-quality dairy products made by local producers, both domestically and internationally.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) announced that this project is a key component of their strategy to modernize the dairy sector. By providing technical assistance and resources, the government hopes to enhance milk production and open new export opportunities for Salvadoran dairy farmers.
"Lácteos de El Salvador" represents a significant step towards strengthening the entire dairy supply chain. By ensuring fair prices for raw milk and supporting farmers with improved nutrition and breeding programs, the initiative aims to create a sustainable and prosperous dairy industry.
Lorena Heredia, executive director of the Salvadoran Association of Livestock Farmers and Milk Industries (Asileche), emphasized the importance of this national brand. "This brand will help us distinguish our high-quality dairy products in the market," Heredia stated. "It guarantees that consumers are getting safe and nutritious products made right here in El Salvador."
The "Lácteos de El Salvador" brand is open to any company that meets the strict quality and safety standards. Currently, four Asileche member companies are participating in the production of these branded dairy products.
Consumers can now find "Lácteos de El Salvador" products at Super Selectos supermarkets, with plans to expand distribution to other retailers in the future. By choosing these products, consumers are directly supporting the livelihoods of local dairy farmers and contributing to the growth of the Salvadoran economy.
This initiative is expected to have a significant positive impact on the Salvadoran dairy industry, fostering economic growth and providing consumers with access to high-quality, locally produced dairy products.
