Chungcheongnam-do Governor Promotes Investment in South Korea at Global Top Brands Awards

Las Vegas, Nevada – Chungcheongnam-do Governor Kim Tae-heum has been actively promoting investment opportunities in the South Korean province during his recent visit to the United States. At the 2024-2025 Global Top Brands Awards held in Las Vegas, Governor Kim highlighted Chungcheongnam-do's strategic location and robust industrial base.
Invited as a keynote speaker, Governor Kim emphasized that Chungcheongnam-do is a manufacturing powerhouse, home to over 330,000 companies spanning diverse sectors such as semiconductors, displays, automotive parts, secondary batteries, and cosmetics. The province has achieved remarkable export figures of $100 billion and boasts a trade surplus.
"Chungcheongnam-do is particularly renowned as a mecca for the display and semiconductor industries," Governor Kim stated. He further elaborated on the Asan-Cheonan display cluster, which is a global leader in R&D and production, accounting for over 20% of worldwide output.
Governor Kim also highlighted the province's ambitious Bay Valley megacity project, which aims to attract leading companies in semiconductors, future mobility, advanced bio, and green hydrogen industries. "By investing a total of $25 billion by 2050, we aim to create an innovative space that rivals Silicon Valley," he said.
To incentivize foreign direct investment, the provincial government has established a favorable business environment, including preferential electricity rates for multinational corporations. Governor Kim urged global investors to consider Chungcheongnam-do as a prime destination for their businesses.
The Global Top Brands Awards, co-hosted by the Asia Digital Group (ADG), European Digital Group (EDG), and TWICE, brought together industry leaders from around the world to discuss the transformative impact of AI on various industries.
