Pangyo Techno Valley Sees Significant Growth, Led by IT Startups

Pangyo, South Korea – The Gyeonggi Province announced the results of a comprehensive survey on the Pangyo Techno Valley, revealing a substantial increase in both the number of companies and employees in the region. The survey highlights the rapid growth of the tech hub, particularly in the second Pangyo district, and the growing demand for improved public transportation.
As of 2024, the combined first and second Pangyo Techno Valley is home to 1,803 companies, employing approximately 79,000 people. This represents an 11% increase in the number of companies compared to the previous year, with the second Pangyo district experiencing the most significant growth.
The IT sector continues to dominate the valley, accounting for 65% of all companies. The biotechnology (BT) and cultural content technology (CT) sectors follow with 12% and 9%, respectively. In terms of company size, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make up 84.3% of the total, while mid-sized and large enterprises account for 7.2% and 3.6%, respectively.
A notable trend is the increasing number of young professionals working in the valley. Over 60% of employees are in their 20s or 30s, reflecting a vibrant and dynamic workforce.
