Samcheok City, South Korea – Samcheok City announced on the 5th that it has completed extensive maintenance and reinforcement of its convenience facilities to ensure a pleasant and safe beach experience for citizens and tourists ahead of the official opening of its beaches. This initiative aims to transform Samcheok Beach, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, into an even more satisfying leisure destination.
Prioritizing the Vulnerable, Expanding Rest and Play Areas
This year, Samcheok Beach stands out for its consideration for the socially vulnerable. Palm tree mats have been installed, allowing wheelchair and stroller users to access the sea more easily. This significant change enhances mobility, ensuring all visitors can enjoy the beach without inconvenience.
Furthermore, old bollard lights have been replaced with bench-type lights, creating new resting areas. These not only serve as lighting but also provide cozy spaces for visitors to relax, enhancing the beach's aesthetic appeal. Convenience for family visitors has also been significantly improved. An air bounce play facility for children has been set up, providing a safe space for kids to play while parents can relax more comfortably.
Strengthening Safety Management and Inter-Agency Cooperation
Samcheok City is also committed to ensuring the safety of beach operations. Management personnel, including water safety officers, have been augmented to enable swift response in case of emergencies. The city plans to further strengthen its water accident prevention and response system through close cooperation with relevant organizations. This is an essential element in creating an environment where visitors can enjoy water activities with peace of mind.
Commitment to Continuous Environmental Improvement
A Samcheok City official emphasized, "We are continuously striving to improve the environment to ensure Samcheok Beach, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, remains a safe and pleasant resting place for users," and added, "We hope many people will visit Samcheok Beach this summer and create enjoyable memories." In addition to Samcheok Beach, the city is completing convenience facility reinforcement and environmental maintenance at other beaches within its jurisdiction. Each beach is scheduled to operate from July 9th to August 17th. This demonstrates Samcheok City's keen interest in not only attracting tourists but also enhancing visitor satisfaction.
