Seoul, South Korea – KT Cloud, a leading cloud service provider in South Korea, announced on January 31st that it has partnered with Rackspace Technology, a global multi-cloud solutions provider, to enhance its cloud native capabilities.
This collaboration is part of KT Cloud's ongoing efforts to transform into a technology-driven company. The company is focusing on internalizing key cloud native technologies such as containers and microservices architecture. KT Cloud is also developing an integrated Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering that maximizes flexibility and scalability in cloud environments. Furthermore, the company plans to unveil a version of its cloud native standard architecture with certifications in the second half of this year.
Rackspace Technology, a global leader in managed cloud computing services, brings its expertise in multi-cloud solutions to the partnership. Notably, Rackspace played a pivotal role in the development of OpenStack, an open-source cloud computing platform, in collaboration with NASA.
The two companies have been working together to validate various aspects of KT Cloud's standard architecture based on the open-source platform. This architecture will be deployed in KT Cloud's new dedicated cloud data center, which is scheduled to open this year.
"This technical collaboration has laid the foundation for establishing a standard architecture and has created an opportunity to enhance the stability of our cloud services," said Ahn Jae-seok, Head of KT Cloud's Technology Division. "We will continue to explore various avenues for internalizing core cloud technologies and strive to strengthen our multi-cloud capabilities."
This partnership is expected to accelerate KT Cloud's transition to a cloud native service provider and solidify its position in the competitive cloud market. The collaboration with Rackspace will enable KT Cloud to deliver more reliable, scalable, and flexible cloud solutions to its customers.
