Da Nang, Vietnam – Hanwha Life has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering the next generation of technology experts in Vietnam by continuing its sponsorship of the Vietnam Informatics Olympiad. This year's event, held at Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) on Friday and Saturday, marked a significant milestone with the introduction of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) track.
The sixth iteration of the Olympiad, a premier IT competition, saw a record-breaking participation rate, highlighting the growing interest in Vietnam's burgeoning IT sector. The number of participating schools surged by 48.3 percent year-on-year to 525, while student participation increased by 19.5 percent, with 2,848 competitors.
"This AI initiative goes beyond corporate social responsibility," stated a Hanwha Life official. "Our aim is to support the development of AI experts in Vietnam and drive sustainable innovation."
The addition of the AI track aligns with Hanwha Life’s strategic vision of promoting AI and digital innovation within the global financial industry. The company has been actively expanding its AI research and business operations, establishing specialized units such as its AI Division, AI Research Lab, and Hanwha AI Center (HAC) in San Francisco.
"I am sincerely grateful to Hanwha Life for providing a platform that showcases Vietnam’s AI capabilities on the global stage," said Phung Nguyen Nhu Bach, the winner of the AI track.
The event, attended by VKU President Huynh Cong Phap, Le Thi Bich Thuan, director of Da Nang City’s education and training department, Hanwha Life Senior Executive Vice President Hong Jeong-pyo, and ChildFund CSR head Shin Jung-won, underscored the importance of nurturing young talent in the region.
Hanwha Life's continued support, now in its second consecutive year, reflects its dedication to regional technological advancement. The Olympiad has already produced notable international success, with last year’s Super Cup champion achieving impressive results at the International Olympiad in Informatics, securing two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.
This sponsorship highlights Hanwha Life’s commitment to not only driving financial service innovation but also enhancing personalized digital experiences for customers through AI.
