A large-scale public playground where dogs and their owners can spend time together is opening in Anduk-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju.
"Daengdaeng Healing Shimpang" was established on a 4,950-square-foot (㎡) public land site in Sangchang-ri with a total project cost of 900 million won. The facility features separated activity zones for small dogs and medium-to-large dogs, agility equipment, a parking lot, and restrooms.
This project was carried out as a designated initiative under Jeju's Hometown Love Donation Program. It also acquired a preliminary barrier-free living environment certification, taking into account accessibility and convenience for users.
Seogwipo City plans to further develop the facility—moving beyond a simple playground into an educational and bonding space for dogs and their owners by linking it with behavioral correction and training programs in the future.
