Cheonan-si, South Korea - Seonghwan-eup (Town Mayor Song Jae-oh) in Cheonan City announced on April 2nd a new partnership with Seoul Four Seasons Dental Clinic (Director Kim Byung-hoon) aimed at identifying and supporting residents in medically underserved areas. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was established to help individuals with low incomes access timely dental care that they might otherwise forgo due to financial constraints.
Under the agreement, Seoul Four Seasons Dental Clinic will provide tailored dental treatments and offer reduced fees to low-income residents within the Seonghwan-eup area. This initiative seeks to address the critical issue of healthcare accessibility for vulnerable populations in the community.
Director Kim Byung-hoon expressed his commitment, stating, "Witnessing low-income patients' health deteriorate due to their inability to afford necessary treatment has been deeply concerning. Through this agreement, we aim to prevent such cases and take responsibility in alleviating the challenges of medical access in our community."
Echoing this sentiment, Town Mayor Song Jae-oh emphasized the significance of the collaboration. "This partnership marks a crucial step in strengthening our local healthcare safety net and supporting the healthy lives of our low-income and medically vulnerable residents," he said. "We will continue to foster public-private cooperation to effectively address and resolve issues related to medical access disparities."
This collaboration between Seonghwan-eup and Seoul Four Seasons Dental Clinic represents a proactive approach to community health, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring that financial limitations do not prevent residents from receiving essential dental care. The partnership is expected to improve the overall well-being of the underserved population in the region.
