The Secretariat for the Defense of Consumers and Users (SEDECO) of Paraguay has announced the introduction of 'DIGITALIA', an electronic document management system for internal document management. With this introduction, SEDECO has become the fourth institution to participate in the national digital transformation promoted by the Paraguayan Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC).
"After several months of training, the institution has taken a big step," said Sara Irún, Minister of SEDECO. "Now, manual processes will disappear at SEDECO, and it will be much easier for consumers to submit complaints, reducing bureaucracy and improving citizen services."
Klaus Pistilli, Vice Minister of MITIC, emphasized, "MITIC is collaborating with institutions in the national digital transformation project through technology. The use of DIGITALIA changes the organizational culture of all public officials by complying with the Trusted Services Law through the integrity of digital documents and eliminating the disadvantages of paper documents."
With this introduction, SEDECO has become the institution to introduce the electronic document management system, following the Internal Audit Office of the Executive Branch (AGPE), the Paraguayan National Institute of Audiovisual (INAP), and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC). In addition, other government agencies, such as the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing, and Habitat, the National Securities Commission, the General Comptroller's Office of the Republic, the National Institute of Statistics, the Attorney General's Office of the Republic, the General Directorate of Civil Registration, the Paraguayan Institute of Agricultural Technology, and the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, are implementing the first phase of the electronic document management system 'VIRTU' with the support of MITIC.
This introduction of the electronic document management system by SEDECO is a significant advancement in the Paraguayan government's digital transformation efforts and is expected to contribute to providing more efficient and transparent services to citizens.
