From Children's Day Events to Museum and Art Gallery Week Experiences… Abundant Family-Oriented Programs

In celebration of May, the month of family, the Daejeon Metropolitan Museum will host a variety of hands-on and educational programs for families, including Children's Day events and Museum and Art Gallery Week programs.

On Children's Day, Sunday, May 5th, and Monday, May 6th, children visiting the museum will receive a traditional Korean play kit to enjoy at home.

Additionally, traditional play experience education will be held at the museum's 'Woori Playground' on Saturday, May 4th, and Saturday, May 11th, for those who have pre-registered.

Furthermore, special programs will be offered from May 2nd to May 31st to commemorate 'Museum and Art Gallery Week.'

The exhibition space for the 'Museom × Mannada' selected content, 'Nasingeol's Hangeul Letters,' will be reorganized for easier and more comfortable viewing. Based on this, a family-participatory educational program, 'Heartfelt Messages Through the Brush,' will also be operated.

Participants will learn the meaning of Hangeul letters and create Hanji (traditional Korean paper) mood lamps by writing messages in their own handwriting.

This program will be held twice on Saturday, May 17th, in the morning and afternoon, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis starting Tuesday, May 7th.

Moreover, through the 'Museom × Geonilda' program, a special tour of the Daejeon Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary History, led by a curator, will be provided. This program is directly organized by the secretariat of Museum and Art Gallery Week, and detailed schedules and participation methods can be found on the official website (museumweek.kr).

In addition, the Daejeon Prehistory Museum will run a hands-on program, 'Let's Play in a Bronze Age Village,' twice on Saturday, May 24th, for families with elementary school children.

Participating families will engage in activities to recreate a Bronze Age village through collaboration. Registration for this program will be open from Tuesday, May 14th, and participants will be selected through a lottery.
