SEOUL — In an unprecedented move for the travel industry, NolUniverse announced on Friday that it will fully subsidize additional expenses for customers whose return flights were delayed due to the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, including the Iranian airstrikes.

The decision reflects a growing trend among leading travel platforms to prioritize traveler safety and corporate social responsibility over short-term profit margins in the face of increasingly volatile international geopolitics.

Comprehensive Financial Support
According to the company, the support package is available to all customers who purchased package tours through the NolUniverse platform and experienced delays in their return schedules. The coverage is notably extensive, encompassing:

-Total Airfare Reimbursement: Full costs for rebooked or new return flight tickets.
-Accommodation & Subsistence: All lodging and dining expenses incurred during the unexpected extension of their stay.
-Cancellation Waivers: For customers scheduled to depart for Middle Eastern destinations in the coming weeks, NolUniverse is offering 100% refunds with all cancellation fees waived.

The company stated that while general guidelines have been established, specific procedures and documentation requirements will be communicated to affected travelers individually.

Current On-Ground Situation
The crisis began following the closure of airspace over Iran and neighboring countries, which triggered massive disruptions in commercial aviation. As of February 28, approximately 200 NolUniverse package travelers were reported to be in the region, primarily in transit hubs like Dubai.

Through aggressive logistics management, the company has managed to reduce that number to roughly 60 individuals as of March 5. NolUniverse confirmed that seats on alternative flights have been secured for all remaining travelers, with a total evacuation expected to be completed by March 8.

Emergency Response and Logistics
Immediately following the outbreak of hostilities, NolUniverse activated a dedicated emergency response system. This task force has been operating a 24-hour emergency hotline to provide real-time updates on safety protocols and repatriation procedures.

Behind the scenes, the company’s logistics team has been negotiating with international airlines to secure "rescue seats" and collaborating with local land operators and partners to ensure that travelers remained in high-standard, secure accommodations while waiting for their flights.

A Commitment to Customer Safety
"In times of unexpected international instability, the primary duty of a company is to provide responsible protection for its patrons," said Lee Chul-woong, CEO of NolUniverse. "We place the safety of our customers as our highest value. By fulfilling our social responsibility even in crisis situations, we aim to build lasting trust with our travelers."

Industry analysts suggest that this move may set a new benchmark for "traveler insurance" expectations in the South Korean market, pushing other agencies to adopt similar proactive measures during global emergencies.
