SEOUL, South Korea – Korean Air has announced the launch of special flights between Seoul and Jeju Island exclusively for passengers using their frequent flyer miles. The move comes amid growing consumer complaints about the difficulty of redeeming airline miles.
Starting from December 28th to January 1st, Korean Air will operate dedicated flights between Gimpo and Jeju International Airports for passengers who wish to use their miles for travel. These flights will operate on select dates and times, providing additional opportunities for frequent flyers to redeem their miles.
"We have decided to launch these special flights on the most popular route for our frequent flyers, Gimpo-Jeju, to provide more options for our customers during the peak travel season," said a Korean Air spokesperson. "We will continue to expand the ways in which our customers can use their miles."
To cater to the growing demand for international travel, Korean Air is also offering discounts on flights to major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou for passengers using their miles. Additionally, the airline has introduced programs like "Cash & Miles" which allow passengers to partially pay for their tickets using miles, and "SkyPass Deal" which offers a variety of products for redemption.
These initiatives are aimed at addressing customer concerns about the limited availability of award seats and the difficulty of redeeming miles. By providing more opportunities to use miles, Korean Air hopes to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
