SEOUL – Excitement is building for Bong Joon-ho's highly anticipated film, "Mickey 17," as its lead cast, Steven Yeun, Mark Ruffalo, and Naomi Ackie, are set to visit Korea for promotional activities. Warner Bros. Korea announced on Monday that the trio will be in Seoul on February 20th for a press conference at Megabox COEX, joining director Bong Joon-ho.
This visit marks the second promotional appearance for the film, following Robert Pattinson's visit last month. Fans can expect to hear in-depth discussions about "Mickey 17" from the stars and director themselves.
"Mickey 17" is based on the novel "Mickey 7" by Edward Ashton and tells the intriguing story of Mickey, an expendable worker sent on dangerous missions. When Mickey seemingly perishes during his 17th mission, a new clone, Mickey 18, is created, setting off a chain of unexpected events.
Steven Yeun, who previously worked with Bong Joon-ho on "Okja," plays Berto, Mickey's friend. Naomi Ackie takes on the role of Nasha, Mickey's love interest. Mark Ruffalo portrays Marshall, the authoritarian leader, promising a powerful performance. This is the first collaboration between Ackie and Ruffalo with the acclaimed director.
Korean audiences will get a chance to see "Mickey 17" first, with its premiere scheduled for February 28th. The film will then be released in North America on March 7th. The film is already generating significant buzz, and the cast's visit is sure to further amplify the anticipation.
