The Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Park Young-kook) carried out multi-dimensional promotional activities in cooperation with government ministries and Korean culture promotion networks to widely publicize the "2026 Sejong Hangul Festival," which kicked off on October 9.
Prior to the festival, the Foundation paved the way for pre-festival promotion by sharing festival news through the monthly newsletter of the King Sejong Institute Foundation, building anticipation among Korean language learners worldwide.
On October 9, the opening day of the festival, a reporting team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' representative SNS channel (Koreaz) visited the festival grounds to capture Hangul experience programs, the vibrant on-site atmosphere, and visitor interviews. The footage is scheduled to be released through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official YouTube channel, introducing the festival to viewers around the globe.
On the same day, a reporting team from KTV (Korea National Television) covered the "Hangul Song Contest"—where participants sing foreign song lyrics translated into Hangul—vividly capturing the charm of a festival enjoyed by people from all over the world.
Subsequently, on October 11, fifteen foreign honorary reporters (KoreaNet) from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines, affiliated with the Korean Culture and Information Service under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), visited the festival site. They experienced and reported on events like "Ring the Golden Bell!", Hangul experience programs, and the Hangul Playground. They plan to produce multi-language portal articles and social networking service (SNS) content operated by the MCST to introduce the charm of the Sejong Hangul Festival and Hangul culture to international readers.
This campaign is meaningful in that it served as a collaborative promotional effort ranging from preliminary announcements to on-site coverage, conveying the vivid appeal of the Sejong Hangul Festival in various languages and perspectives through the Korean culture promotion network.
Han Kyung-ah, Head of the Tourism Business Division at the Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, "By widely publicizing the charm of the Sejong Hangul Festival through diverse promotional channels, we will continue to strengthen our publicity efforts so that even more domestic and international visitors will visit Sejong City in the future."
