Changwon, South Korea – The Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, a hallmark spring celebration in Korea renowned for its breathtaking cherry blossoms, is set to captivate visitors from March 28th to April 6th. This year's festival promises an array of exciting additions and a renewed emphasis on attracting young people, showcasing art, and welcoming international tourists.

Changwon City has strategically adjusted the festival dates to coincide with the predicted peak bloom of the cherry blossoms, rather than the initial flowering, to ensure visitors experience the festival at its most vibrant.

Festival favorites such as the Military Band Festival, the Lee Chungmu Gong Memorial Ceremony, the enchanting Yeojwacheon Starlight Festival, the spectacular Jinhaeru Multimedia Fireworks Show, and the awe-inspiring Black Eagles Air Show will all return to delight audiences.

Adding to the allure, the inaugural Cherry Blossom Music Festival will showcase renowned musicians and bands in a ticketed event, offering a contemporary twist to the traditional festivities.

This year's festival places a special emphasis on three key areas: youth, art, and foreign visitors.

The Jungwon Rotary area will transform into a vibrant hub for young artists with the establishment of a 'Spring Flea Market'. This initiative will provide a platform for emerging talent to showcase their creations and connect with festival-goers.

Efforts to attract foreign tourists have been ramped up, with targeted promotions through the Korea Tourism Organization's global network and dedicated broadcasts on Japanese and Chinese television.

To cater to the growing number of Taiwanese visitors, Jinhae Gunhangje leaflets will be available in traditional Chinese characters in addition to the existing simplified Chinese versions.

Designated foreign language interpretation booths will be conveniently located at popular spots like Gyeonghwa Station and Yeojwacheon to assist international visitors.

A groundbreaking addition to this year's festival is the introduction of a 'lodging cruise ship'. This vessel, with a capacity of 350 passengers in 115 cabins, will embark on a scenic journey from Jinhae Port on March 29th, offering a unique perspective of the festival from the sea. The cruise will feature captivating sunsets, a lavish sea buffet, a dazzling fireworks display, and a variety of onboard entertainment.

To further enhance the visitor experience, Changwon City will operate a dedicated travel agency specializing in stay-type tourism packages linked to the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival. The 'Changwon Tour Pass', a mobile discount ticket offering deals at local attractions, restaurants, and cafes, will also be launched in March, encouraging tourists to explore the wider region.

With its diverse offerings and focus on inclusivity, the 2025 Jinhae Gunhangje Festival is poised to be an unforgettable celebration of spring, art, and culture.
