San José, Costa Rica – IFX has further solidified its position in the Latin American telecommunications market with the acquisition of Gold Data Costa Rica. This strategic move, following the company's recent acquisitions of CODISA and ADN Data Centers earlier in 2024, underscores IFX's commitment to strengthening its regional presence and enhancing its service offerings.
The acquisition of Gold Data Costa Rica will enable IFX to bolster its telecommunications infrastructure and data center services across the region. Gold Data's robust infrastructure, including its participation in a pan-regional submarine cable project with Liberty Networks, which connects the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, and the Caribbean, will complement IFX's existing capabilities.
Diego Cardoza, Country Manager of IFX-CODISA, the principal IFX operation in Costa Rica, emphasized the significance of the acquisition. "This integration strengthens our presence in the country and positions us as a leader in telecommunications and data center services for the region," Cardoza stated. He also announced that Gold Data Costa Rica would be integrated into CODISA, operating under the unified brand of IFX-CODISA, to streamline operations and enhance customer benefits.
Renato Tradardi, CEO of Gold Data, explained that the sale of their Costa Rica operations aligns with their strategic plan. "The sale of Gold Data Costa Rica allows us to maximize the value of years of success and excellence, completing our strategic divestment plan to focus our efforts on the growth and development of key projects in the region," Tradardi said.
IFX's expansion efforts extend beyond Costa Rica, with a presence in 18 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean. The company boasts an extensive network of 110,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable. In mid-2024, IFX also acquired Netglobalis in Chile, further demonstrating its commitment to regional growth. This acquisition of Gold Data in Costa Rica, shows their continued commitment to growth in the region.
