- Features top 5 Jeonbuk local experiences; comedian Kang Jae-jun to participate in tourism content filming
The Jeonbuk State Culture and Tourism Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the "Foundation") announced that it will host the "2026 Jinan Plateau Forestival: Run & Heal" from October 10 to 11 around the National Jinan Plateau Forest Healing Center.
This event is designed to promote tourism content linking Jinan's rich forest resources with local experiences from various regions across Jeonbuk, allowing runners and tourists to directly participate in both trail running and hands-on programs.
The trail running competition features two courses: a 6km course utilizing the healing center's circular paths and forest trails, tailored for beginners and families; and a 16km course crossing Seonggaksan and Deoktaesan mountains, designed for experienced trail runners.
In addition, the event venue will showcase the final 5 local experiential tourism products discovered and nurtured by the Foundation this year.
The detailed programs include:
Wanju Bonggangyo: Ceramic transfer and pot-throwing experience
Jeonju Moju Experience Ye: Traditional ginseng moju (rice wine) experience
Iksan Seodong Farm: Tropical fruit brunch experience
Wanju Dreamtteul Healing Farm: Flower basket crafting experience
Iksan Spring & Laura’s Healing Farm: Healing herbal tea and homemade refreshment experience
On the second day of the event (October 11), comedian Kang Jae-jun will participate in filming for the Foundation's western inland tourism promotion YouTube channel, "Wamma Jeonbuk." The content will capture Kang directly participating in the trail running and local experience programs.
The event is co-hosted by the Korea Forest Service, Jeonbuk State, and Jinan County, and co-organized by the Foundation and the National Jinan Plateau Forest Healing Center.
