Boehringer Invests in Lunar Exploration with Intuitive Machines

Seoul, South Korea – Boehringer, a leading pharmaceutical company, has announced a strategic investment of $10 million in Intuitive Machines, a US-based space exploration company that made history by becoming the first private entity to successfully land on the Moon.
Boehringer participated in Intuitive Machines' recently concluded $65 million private placement, acquiring 952,381 Class A common shares. This investment aligns with the company's strategic partnership with Intuitive Machines, which was established in December 2023. The partnership aims to develop critical infrastructure for life sciences research on and around the Moon.
In October of this year, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly develop a platform for conducting medical experiments in space. This platform will utilize Intuitive Machines' lunar lander and rover, which are being developed for NASA's Artemis program.
"We have received confirmation from partners like NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) regarding the significance and demand for space medicine," said a Boehringer spokesperson. "We plan to leverage Intuitive Machines' lunar lander and rover infrastructure to activate medical research in space."
With this investment, Boehringer aims to contribute to the advancement of space medicine and expand South Korea's deep space exploration missions.
