Incheon, South Korea – The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced today that it has approved the construction of Seoul Asan Cheongra Hospital in the Cheongra Medical Complex.
The 800-bed general hospital will be built on a 97,459 square meter plot in Cheongra International City, with two basement levels and 19 above-ground floors, spanning a total floor area of 165,899 square meters.
The hospital will feature specialized centers for treating critically ill patients, including an oncology center, a cardiology center, and a spine and joint center. Construction is set to begin in the first half of this year, with the hospital aiming to open in 2029.
Beyond Seoul Asan Cheongra Hospital, the Cheongra Medical Complex will also house the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), a Harvard Medical School (MGH) research institute, a medical hotel, the Life Science Park (a startup incubation facility), and a senior healthcare facility.
"Seoul Asan Cheongra Hospital will dramatically improve the quality of medical services and serve as a new hub for research and entrepreneurship targeting the global market," said Yoon Won-seok, head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority.
