Cheonan, South Korea – Cheonan City has launched various support programs, including the distribution of winter clothing, to ensure that non-regular workers have a warm winter.
On December 5th, the city announced that it had delivered 100 winter coats to non-regular security and cleaning workers at Choongwon Green Town Apartments. Cheonan City and the Cheonan Non-Regular Worker Support Center have been providing winter clothing to 100 non-regular workers each year during the harsh winter months, demonstrating their commitment to protecting workers vulnerable to climate change.
Furthermore, Jumy Distribution and Brain MRO showed their support by donating 300 bananas and 300 loaves of bread to the Cheonan Non-Regular Worker Support Center for the benefit of the non-regular workers at Choongwon Green Town Apartments.
"Although it's a small act of kindness, we hope that this will be a little help to the workers who are struggling in the cold weather," said Park Jong-so, CEO of Jumy Distribution, and Kim Hyo-yeol, CEO of Brain MRO.
Kim Young-han, the director of the Cheonan Non-Regular Worker Support Center, expressed his hope that the winter coats would help outdoor workers who are vulnerable to cold weather to have a warm and safe winter. "We will continue to listen to the difficulties faced by workers and strive to create a better working environment," he said.
Song Min-cheol, the director of the Job and Economy Division of Cheonan City, stated, "Cheonan City plans to continue to promote projects to protect the health of workers in apartment complexes and other outdoor work environments."
