Employees of the Overseas Koreans Agency (Administrator Lee Sang-deok) attended the 'Multi-Value Forum,' which has served as a public sphere since 2017 to explore coexistence and mutual prosperity between Chinese Koreans in Korea and the local community. They listened to opinions and sought countermeasures.
Lee Ki-seong, Director-General of the Overseas Koreans Policy Bureau, and other staff members from the Agency attended the 2nd 'Multi-Value Forum' of 2025, held on the 20th at the Guro-gu Family Center in Seoul. This forum, the first hosted by the 'Multi-Value Forum' since the inauguration of the new government, was held under the theme of 'Current Status of Hatred Towards the Korean Diaspora and Exploring Countermeasures.'
This forum, which has now been held 33 times, is co-hosted by the Multi-Value Forum (Representative Kim Jeong-ryong) and the National Association of Korean Chinese (Chairman Kim Ho-rim) and takes place four times a year, quarterly.
In his congratulatory speech, Director Lee said, "I hope this forum serves as an important opportunity for our society to move towards a more inclusive and mature community. Improving the perception of Chinese Koreans among domestic citizens will take time, but with the efforts and will of the Korean Chinese themselves and civic organizations, the future is not so bleak." He added, "The Overseas Koreans Agency will play a significant role in this going forward."
