In the 2025 MLS regular season's 34th round away game against Colorado on the 19th, Son broke the 0-0 deadlock in the 42nd minute of the first half. He received a through-ball from his 'partner' Denis Bouanga (Gabon) and slotted a powerful left-footed shot from the left side of the penalty box, finding the back of the net. Son's goal on this day held significance beyond just his personal tally. It marked the 500th regular season goal in LA FC's history, achieved in just 260 games since the club's founding in 2014.
