Asunción, Paraguay - Paraguay's National Tax Directorate (DNIT) has announced that April 2025 is the deadline for taxpayers with a fiscal year ending on December 31, 2024, to settle their Corporate Income Tax (IRE General). Taxpayers are required to use Form N° 500 for this settlement and must adhere to the payment schedule established by the DNIT.
The DNIT clarified that the IRE General tax applies to a wide range of businesses and entities, including sole proprietorships, various forms of corporations, consortia, associations, foundations, and cooperatives. Additionally, taxpayers under the Simplified IRE Regime (Resimple) are reminded that their first installment payment is due in April. The authority also emphasized that taxpayers with a Taxpayer Registry Number (RUC) ending in 4 must complete their personal information updates this month.
New Regulations for Tourism Shopping Regime Announced
In related news, the DNIT recently published detailed regulations regarding registration for the Tourism Shopping Regime (Régimen de Turismo de Compras, RTC) through a new resolution. Businesses interested in participating in this regime must access the DNIT's electronic system, "Sistema Marangatu," and complete the application form after entering their password.
The application requires businesses to specify whether they are registering as an importer, merchant, or intermediary. They must also submit information regarding their integrated capital amount and bank account details registered with the Paraguayan financial system. The DNIT stressed that applicants must be in compliance with all their tax obligations to be eligible for registration.
Two Businesses Suspended for Tax Violations
The DNIT recently imposed a three-day temporary closure on two businesses located in Lambaré and Asunción. The affected establishments include a construction materials and hardware store and a beverage and barbecue vendor. These actions were taken following reports of attempted fraudulent purchases and negligence in issuing sales receipts. The DNIT conducted simultaneous tax audits on these businesses as a result of third-party complaints.
DNIT Enhances Taxpayer Services
The DNIT is actively providing information through its online system and official channels to ensure taxpayers can file and pay their taxes on time. For further inquiries, taxpayers can visit the official DNIT website or contact their customer service center.
